Prior to Colleen contacting me I was already a fan of her blog "Distinctive Touches". Her work is precise, and her tutorials; always easy to follow. I was so glad when she asked to participate in Craft Critique, her enthusiasm is contagious! Colleen has already been if full research mode for us; looking at new products for the reporters to review, and really thinking BIG! What a wonderful TEAM this is! I look forward to getting to know you Colleen... I want to learn more about your Curling hobby as well!

A round of applause for Colleen please.....

My name is Colleen Schaan and I am CRAZY for crafts. You name it...I have probably tried it. When I was young, I was always drawing, painting, and creating. My favorite memories of crafting as a child are making candles and learning calligraphy. I attended Wartburg college where I majored in Music Therapy but kept active in the arts. I quickly changed my major to Communications and then narrowed that down to English. I received my teaching degree and began work at an alternative high school in Iowa. After 11 years of teaching a variety of levels in a number of states, I am taking a break from the classroom. I have been married 10 years to the most wonderful man alive! He is fully supportive of my choice to pursue other career options. I have been a Stampin' Up! demo for over three years. I started out strong in Green Bay, WI when I first joined, but our numerous moves have made it difficult to grow my business. I will be giving up my demonstrator status shortly, and I am excited to learn more about other products and companies. I am hoping that other crafting opportunities will arise as time goes by. So, as of today...I am what I call a Stay At Home Stamper (SAHS) and I love it. Don't let the name fool you though...with all my other hobbies: painting, drawing, sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, scrapbooking...I am not getting much stamping done!
