It sure has been a fun week with Snooks and Boo! We were so glad to meet this small homegrown company at CHA this summer... and it was especially fun for me to find out they were locals; based out of Bartlett, IL. They may not have a huge product selection, but what they do have is reasonably priced (each template is $6.99 US) and well made. Added kudos for their low cost shipping!

I was the lucky girl who received the Quick Card Caddy Template. My favorite part about this item is that it sized to fit perfectly on an 8 1/2 X 11" piece of card stock, so cutting the shape out was a breeze. As the other ladies have mentioned... the sturdy, clear, plastic template does get a tad slippery. I used 4 small cord dots on the corners to keep mine in place. A bit of repositionable adhesive would also work well.

I used a sharp craft blade right along the edge of the template to trim my cardstock base. After marking the template according to the instructions so I knew where to score, I took a small stylus to score my card caddy. A bone folder made quick work of making all my folds nice and tight.

Assembly was very simple. I used Scotch Brand Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere my project. I would also recommend using Sticky Strip or Tacky Tape to assemble. You will want to use something very strong. I was amazed that I actually had the base of the project cut and assembled in under 5 minutes. So simple!

As you can see, I decided to further embellish my Caddy... I added several layers of papers from the Mellow collection by Basic Grey. The self adhesive ribbons used are from the Martha Stewart Craft Collection at Micheal's. The center image is punched from a sheet of paper as well and boarded with the Stampin' Up! Scalloped Circle Punch.

I even embellished the inside of the box! I think it's fun to find a colorful surprise inside a container... it seems to make the item look more finished somehow. Magnetic snaps by Basic Grey were used to keep the box closed. If you didn't want to use magnets... ribbon would be a lovely way to keep this caddy closed... or maybe a large button and loop.

I was able to fit 6 cards (4 1/4 X 5 1/2" sized) and their envelopes inside the box... a perfect fit!

This Caddy Template is a perfect item to help make holiday gifts or even card sets for craft shows. Because of it's basic, simple design it has a lot of potential for embellishment.

Please let us know when you buy your first template from Snooks and Boo... and don't forget to share your art with us!
