Reported by Heidi KingeryYou know how every once in a while you laugh so hard that you even keep laughing when no one else thinks there is anything funny anymore? You can't really explain it but you just 'get the giggles'. Well, when I got the chance to view 'Inside Scrapbooking' made by mockUtv, that was my exact reaction. If I wasn't laughing during this 30 minute movie, I was in the very least smiling and nodding with agreement.
The movie starts out with the flamboyant Molly McGann trying to get ready for the upcoming Scrapapalooza that takes place just days away. During Scrapapalooza there is a contest for the best scrap page, so Molly is a bit stressed when she can't come up with an idea. She then has to go take her walk in the hills to find inspiration. When she arrives back at home with her inspiration, the dinner that her loving and understanding scrubby (scrapbooker's hubby), Steven made for her has to wait because she just has to get her idea onto paper! Things get a bit out of control and her plans don't work out the way she had hoped and once again her inspiration escapes her. What else could she do then but take a trip to the scrap store? On her way there she runs into her scrap circle rival Missy Goldstein (which just so happens to be the previous years contest winner). Not only does she think Missy is sneaky but she thinks her new assistant is too. The tension builds as there are only a few more says till Scrapapalooza. But at last she makes the perfect page that she thinks is sure to win.
Finally, the big day comes and we see her scrubby loading everything up into the car as she sits and shouts at him to hurry up. They are now on their way to Las Vegas where this event is taking place. Once they arrive, Steven is a bit dismayed that they are going to someone's house and not a big hotel. But being the loyal scrubby he is, still goes right along with it. Once they get there, more hilarious characters are introduced and make the storyline even better. It then takes a closer look at the scrubby's role and how much fun a scrap circle can be.
Then it's contest time! As the entries are presented, Molly does not get the reaction she expected for hers and is ultimately asked to leave the circle. Dissapointed and angry she leaves, but not without the last word! Skipping forward a year later, Molly and Steven seem happier than ever now that she has more space to scrap. Updates are also given on the other members of the scrap circle, just in case you were wondering about them too.
Ultimately, I can rate this little piece of scrap heaven an A+! Although the scenes in here are real life scrap sitiations, just blown a bit (okay, maybe a lot!) out of porportion, that is what makes them so humourous! You do not have to be a scrapper to enjoy this movie and see a small piece of yourself in Molly. Oh, and did I mention that Molly is really a man dressed up like a woman? How much funnier could they make it!? Also included are deleted scenes that you just can't miss! And the wonderful part about purchasing this DVD is not only will it make your stomach ache with laughter, 10% of the sale goes to Autism Support Daily. And, you get a nifty little coupon inside the case for Gina K's website too! So, go ahead and make your dollar count while you are adding a priceless piece of entertainment to your DVD collection! Can't wait to see what they come up with next!
