I love the embossing folders and the die shapes... and the small footprint it takes up on my desk. The only BIG drawback for me is when I use it it does not suction-cup very well to my table... so I have to hold it in place... this is disappointing... and in hindsight I wish I have purchased a Big Kick. It has a larger base to it and can be operated with one hand; using your OTHER hand to guide the plates through... plus, you can use the cuttlebig dies in there too!

I love my cuttlebug, unfortnately I cannot compare it to another machine as I have never used another. I have used the Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies, cuttlekids dies, some sizzix dies, and Spellbinders nestabilities all in my cuttlebug and am pleased with the outcome of all. Have recommended the cuttlebug to a number of people & 3-4 have purchased & are pleased also. But then again must say can't compare to other machines as we haven't used other machines.

I love my Big Shot and use it with all brands of die cutting including CB, Sizzix and Quickutz. I like the large stable base and it doesn't take up a lot of room in my work space. I have used the CB and to me it is too light and wobbly.
I love the Cuttlebug. I chose it for the price and the versatility as you can use dies from many other die companies. It is an all in one machine. I especially love the embossing folders! I find the alphabets affordable compared to others and I have found specials on the alphabets - 3 for $99! I The only problem I have had is that the Spellbinders nestabilities sometimes get caught in the plate and I need to pry it out but most of the time if I cut more than one piece of paper this is not a problem. Overall, I would highly recommend it!!!
My Big Kick does all that I want it to do, although I must admit the various "sandwiches" become a little confusing and with each type or brand of paper things come out a little better or worse, but the Big Kick feels sturdy and tough like it can take the abuse of experimentation I like to give my toys. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars

This is my first and only die-cutting machine. I'm very pleased with it overall; I do wish the suction cup 'feet' worked though (hence, 4/5*'s).
I love the 'Bug's small footprint, it's lightweight portability, the carrying handle, the embossing folders, most of the dies, and mostly, the prices! Cuttlebug dies, folders, alphas, etc., seem to be priced much lower than their competitors products.
I also love the fact that I can (and do!), use other manufacturers dies in the machine.
For what I paid (35.00), I'm more than happy with the Cuttlebug. If it broke tomorrow, I'd replace it with another 'Bug. And I guess that's the best testament of all!

I don't have a Cuttlebug so I can't really compare the two but I do love my Big Shot. I use the CB dies and embossing folders with no problem and can cut chipboard, felt and Fun Foam with it. I have some embossing plates from both Sizzix and Fiskars and they both work great. I have embossed brass stencils as well with pretty good success. The only down side, if there is one, is that it is bigger than the CB and therefore not as portable but I don't take it with me so that isn't an issue for me. I do find it to be very stable on my worktable, too, which is a plus.
Sizzix! Those little Cuttlebug dies don't cut felt or fabric and thus they are totally useless to me.
I have a Cuttlebug and love it, a lot of people don't know that you can use different company's dies in it. You adjust the plates you use. I have a ellison thick cuts die and a sizzix orignals, both bigger then the little cuttlebug dies, they work great! I also love all the embossing folders that I have, I use them for background on a lot of my cards.

I own the Cuttlebug and the Spellbinder's Wizard, which I purchased shortly after it was introduced. I had been using it to run the Cuttlebug embossing folders through for backgrounds without a problem, since the Wizard can handle just about anything. However, I had the opportunity to use a Cuttlebug and loved the ease with which I could roll the sandwich through. When I found it listed at approximately half price, I grabbed it. I own most of the die sets, a few alphabet sets and almost all of the embossing folders in all sizes as well as the new embossing/die sets. I also own the totes. What's not to love? I will probably continue to use my Wizard for my Spellbinder's dies, just because... :)
sizzix and I give it 4 stars. I have the big red machine that I got when I first started scrapbooking. I love that it cuts lots of materials like metal and fabric. I can use Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders with it by clicking in the adapter. I only gave it 4 stars; it's too heavy to easily transport and the alphas are expensive.

I own a cuttlebug system and love it. I have several embossing folders and a few dies. I also find that my quickutz die cutter shapes will work well in this machine as well. It is much easier to use than the Quickutz.
I do find occasionally the suction cups come loose but it is so much easier using the rolling through than a Quickutz. I have used the original Sizzix machine and for what it could do, I find the Cuttlebug so much easier to operate. I have nothing else to compare it to although I know people with different systems.
The only draw back I find with the cuttlebug is the fact it is one size and you can't do bigger embossed surfaces very easily. I primarily use it for cards but would love to be able to incorporate the embossing more in my scrapbooking.

I had a cuttlebug and sold it and just use my BigShot which seems easier for me to use and I use the cuttlebug dies for it for me the Cuttlebug was uncomfty to use as it just would not stay in place.

I love the big shot as it is a very sturdy die cutting machine. the sizzix range have a good variety of dies although price wise I think the cuttlebug ones are slightly cheaper. However, I do love my Sizzix alphapeth set as each letter comes separately, thus the cutting pads undergo less wear and tear.
CUTTLE BUG 5 stars I love it capibilites, small compact,useful,BUT The stores in my area sell only a few of the embossing and cutters. I go on the net and there are many many more than I ever knew. I want to purcahse some of these but oh well...there loss.

Yes, I really do have all those machines...I got a terrific deals on all the machines when I purchased them, otherwise I'd probably stick with one. I like them all for various reasons, kind of like having several different kinds of paper cutters.
I love the Cuttlebug because of the small size, yet is able to do so much! It is definitely more portable than the Big Shot or Wizard. I have all the A2 embossing folders as well as alphabet sets that I purchased on sale. I find that the CB alphabets are the most reasonably priced when on sale than other machines.
I love the Wizard-now that I've used it more, it's easier. However, it's big and heavy. Not a problem if I don't take it anywhere.
The Big Shot-I've barely used it "yet," but I'm thinking I will like it because it can cut felt, etc.
Quickutz-I bought it because I loved the small dies and magnets. I love the portability...but if I had to do it over again, I would not purchase it. The dies are so expensive. I have two or three alphabet sets-one came with it, the others I got on clearance. If I had to get rid of one of my die cut machines, this would be it. I don't like the high profile, and although I have the adapters for setting it on a flat surface so I don't have to squeeze the handles with my hand, I like it the least.
If I could only have one machine though, hands down it would be the Cuttlebug because of it's smaller size, versatility, lower cost of dies and embossing folders (when on sale), and cost. I like the others, but I love my 'bug!'

I finally broke down and purchased the Cuttlebug machine... I love the embossing plates and I often use Spellbinders Nestabilites dies... I agree with the suction-cup not being strong enough...

I purchased my Sizzix machine 5-6 years ago and have many of the dies… I have used it with the Cuttlebug folders & dies and Nestabilites dies up until I got my Cuttlebug machine... Actually I still use it for the cutting process... I just feel it is more stable and this way I use the Cuttlebug plates mostly for the embossing part… not wearing out the plates so fast-I hear they tend to brake easily... I also like to cut felt on my Sizzix machine, using some of the Cuttlebug dies.
I won’t be getting rid of my machine because I can let my 6-year-old son use it without worrying that he might brake something... so that is a big plus. :o)
I am just disappointed that the new dies don’t fit this machine… it kind of forces people to buy the new machine…
I have the sizzix Machine but NOT the cuttlebug machine. I bought my sizzix from someone on line for 40.00. Then last summer bought the side kick for 10.00 new from a scrabook web site. I love the side kick because I can take with me and it will do cuttlebug dies and small embossers. I do have cuttlebug dies and embossers I can use them in my Org. sizzix with an adaptor plate. but you can't use the sizzix in the cuttlebug. I find I am able to find more of the sizzix on line and on sale more then the cuttlebug. Even in the stores I still have not seen the new cuttlebug embossers that came out in Jan. Sizzix has new dies out that are so cute I will buying more.

If you are really into die cut paper but cost is a big factor, then a Cuttlebug is your best choice. It's reasonably priced, you can get one at any of the stores with your 50% coupon, and not only can you use your coupons for dies, but you can get lots of dies both new and used on Ebay. I bought a set of 6 full alphabets on Ebay for $120! I can only give it 4 stars because of the way the feet don't suction to the desk, but it's so small that anyone with limited space will find it perfect. There are so many dies to choose from, because you can use Sizzlets, Quickutz, and many other brands. It cuts nicely, with crisp edges. I think choosing a die cut machine is based in a large part on what kind of paper crafting you enjoy. Sizzix has a lot of very cutesy dies, and if you want dolls or teddy bears, with lots of small pieces that fit together into intricate designs, then you need a Sizzix. If you want a simple machine with inexpensive dies for alphas and accents, get the Cuttlebug. But be warned! If putting through one alpha die at a time really annoys you, then no regular machine will work and you should get a Cricut.
I work in a scrapbook store and i have become fam with all of the diecut machines out there. I own a cuttlebug and wouldnt trade it for anything. It works perfect and all dies fit in it eventually! I have to hold it down but then again i have to do the same thing with the sizzix at work too! 4 stars for me on the cuttle bug
I am with Paula, I have the Original Sizzix and its only drawback is the weight, and portability, otherwise love love using the CB dies, alphas and embossing folders in it (other dies too) I got this prior to Cuttlebug hitting the market, so can't justify spending on a new one just yet...I too give it 4 stars out of 5

Your comments: I had the cuttlebug and when I first got it I got rid of my Sizzix. Big regrett. Don't like the alphabet dies as they curve, you can not just cut one letter, and the metal isn't strong. First time using the N the metal broke from the top left of the N to the bottom right. This didn't only happen with the alphabets it also happened to the corner dies. The embossing folders are nice but again to use it in the cuttlebug you need pressure turning the handle and for people with arthritis it makes you hurt more.
So I sold the cuttlebug and cutting dies, kept the embossing dies, bought my sisters Sizzix that she never used as she won it at the very 1st Memories Expo here in New Jersey.
But I also bought the Quickut Revolution and love it as it has the magnetic and doesn't need help to turn through.

I bought both the CB and the Big Kick and I ended up returning the Cuttlebug. It moved around to much, love the embossing folders. I love the Big kick I'd give it 5 stars.
I love my Big Shot. I also have the Taf a Long. Both are rated 5 stars.
After I'd already purchased the Big Shot, I was able to try the BigKick and Cuttlebug at Michaels. They both work fine, but I'm totally satisfied with the Big Shot. I like the solid base that the Big Shot has instead of the open areas or valleys that the Big Kick has. The Cuttlebug folds for storage, but it was heavier to me. I have a stand so my Big Shot is always out and ready to use. The only thing that would have made the Big Shot better for me was the color. And now it comes out in black and pink...
I only own,and have used, the Cuttlebug. I love the affordability, ease of use,and availability of products in local stores as well as online. I have used the Nestabilities and the QuickKutz dies, and they work well in the machin. I would give the CB 4 stars; only because of the price of the alphas and occasional loss of suction of the feet.

i love my cuttlebug for several reasons: it's easily portable, it accepts nearly any type die/plate and will handle various media, it's inexpensive, it's compact footprint and easy storage. although the bugs have problems with their base suction not holding, the bug's size and weight make it a 'heavy duty' tool in a small size. additionally, PC has released a whole line of embossing folders and dies that are also very reasonably priced when compared to other dies. additionally, the cuttlebug is VERY easy to use, and turning the handle does not affect the arthritis in my hands the way other 'press' machines might.
I own a Cuttlebug and a QK handtool, and have used the Sizzix (the older one).
I love my Cuttlebug. The only thing I don't like about it, is it does not suction well to stick to the table, and I cannot use it to cut acrylic. I do a lot of embossing for cards and smaller things, and the cuttlebug is perfect. (And the embossing folders are cheap). I have also embossed even thicker acrylic (Clear Scraps albums)- they are a little tougher to get through, but are beautiful once the embossing is done. Size is a limitation for this. The small size however does make it extremely portable, and I have taken it with me to crops with no problems.
I use my QK dies in it with no problem. I agree with the others that some of the dies are cost prohibitive.
I also have some of the newer QK dies and a couple of sizzix sidekick dies. They all work easily in the Cuttlebug.
One of the things I like better about the Sizzix is that it would cut fabric and chipboard and heavier stuff like that.
Someone previously mentioned it only cuts once size die... it does, but I have a cricut too, so that isn't a problem for me.

I have them both and love them both but I rated the Big Kick higher because it does feel more stable and I have an easier time cutting felt or chipboard with it but it is not as portable.
The cuttlebug does cut felt and chipboard but it is harder to do and I have broken many plates trying to cut those items. I use the cuttlebug more to travel with because it is more compact. They both take different manufactures dies so you can use whatever you have in either one of them.
They also cut foam which is fun to use on scrapbook pages.

I started out with a sizzix original die cut machine. I loved the dies and yes the cuttlebug accessories work with it as long as you have the adapter for your sizzix but I then moved up to a cuttlebug and found that I truly had been missing something. I am able to use my sizzix dies in it and I am also able to use the spellbinder nestablities with in. The embossing in the cuttlbug is so rich with the A2 dies. To me the Cuttlebug is top of the line for someone like me who is on a budget.

I tried the Cuttlebug but the plates kept breaking after a few passes. The CB is not as sturdy and durable as the BigKick. I would rather have a bigger machine because it offers more options in cutting larger dies if desired. If also cuts through thick chipboard, felt, and fabric. I also use the nestabilities, QK dies, and Revolution Goosebumpz in the BigKick.
I have the Quickutz squeeze which is convenient only for use with QK dies and embossing dies. My first machine was the red original Sizzix machine. The Sizzix Sidekick is useful for the border dies.

I have the original Sizzix and give it 5 stars, because I like the smaller dies it uses and it does a great job. Have just purchased the Cuttlebug 'cuz I am in LOVE with the A2 embossing dies. They are fabulous for my card making and such a variety!! I intend to use my CB for the embossing capabilities primarily. I definitely give it 5 stars. I wonder if they have changed the design of the CB.....I don't have "feet" as such, but a plate that covers the whole bottom and sticks like glue wherever I have used it. My arthritic hands work better with the turning crank on the CB than with the pressure needed on the Sizzix. I have seen pictures of the new Embossing A2 folders for the CB coming out in the fall and they are to die for!!

It's robust, sturdy and cuts through lots of material. But the strain on the handle is showing - there are cracks appearing around the base of the handle and I've retired it.

I had purchased a Cuttlebug but sold it to a friend who is just starting to use diecuts. The Big Kick can be used for ALL systems. My personal opinion is that Sizzix products are the best.

Love the Big Kick and use it with just about every card/project I make. It's sturdy, reliable and easy to use. The thing that I really love about it is that it is compatible with so many other die cutting/embossing systems. I use sixxix, cuttlebug, Fiskars texture plates, Nestabilites and quickutz in it so far with no problem. I got it on sale with the starter kit (multiplatform plate, dies, embossing folders for around $80. at Costco (including shipping and handling). It's been the best present I ever gave myself!

I love my Cuttlebug! I got a good deal on it. And I like being able to use other brand of die cuts in it. The suction cup doesn't work well, but I think it because it needs a CLEAN surface every time...I don't always have that. :-) I don't regret buying it..the suction being my only minor problem.

I have both machines and much prefer the Big Shot. I find that the Sizzix dies, when used in the Big Shot, cut through chipboard and cardstock (which have been adhered to one another), perfectly. I make most of my own chipboard alphas and embellishments, using the Sizzix dies and Big Shot. The sandwich board is very easy to understand and to use. All of my original Sizzix dies (from a long time ago!) can also be used in the Big Shot and the new BIGZ dies are fabulous!
If you love chipboard die-cuts, then the Big Shot would be my first choice.

I have the Bigkick and I love it. The only drawback is that it doesn't stay put on the counter. However, I can use any die die or embossing folder in it. I've even figured out how to get a deeper impression from the Sizzix and Fiskars embossing plates by putting a piece of fun foam in the sandwich recipe. My favorite embossing folders are the Cuttlebug folders and only one drawback with them is that they aren't the size of the an A2 card. I have only tried Sizzix, Ellison and Cuttlebug products in my Big Kick so I don't know how the others work.

I own the Cuttlebug and Quickutz Squeeze. My mother in law owns the Sizzix, so I've had the opportunity to use all three plenty. I love my little Cuttlebug with its embossing folders and versatility in using other manufacturers' dies. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is not PERFECTLY compatible with nestabilities and the traditional sizzix dies using the sandwich plates provided. You can still use both, but it takes a little shim making and experimentation to get it just right. But then it's a breeze.
What I like about the Cuttlebug over the Sizzix is the turn handle instead of the push lever. Feeding the plates through the Cuttlebug exerts even pressure and is easy on the crafter! This is one of my complaints with the Quickutz, too. My other complaint about QK is that it only takes QK dies and they are only 2x2, which makes it difficult to do larger cuts. I use my QK dies in my Cuttlebug and like it much better!

I love the cuttlebug embossing folders and have the cuttlebug system! I have a lot of quickutz that go easily into the cuttlebug..I never use my quickutz squeeze!! I wouldn't trade my cuttlebug for anything!! It never leaves my desk! I just wish cuttlebug came out with better die shapes, I like the quickutz shapes better, they are more realistic, not cartoony..if that makes sense.

I love my Cuttlebug. I had first bought the Quickutz Revolution which I sold to buy the Cuttlebug after further research. I LOVE that it accepts most brands of dies and that it comes with the plates/adapters necessary to use the other brands. I think the price is very affordable too. While most of my die collection consists of Quickutz dies, I do have some Cuttlebug dies and many of the emobossing folders. As for the suction on the bottom of the machine, you have to make sure that it is set on a solid surface. Those plastic tables like they have at scrapbook stores won't cut it. I have mine set on a wood surface and the suction works fine. I'm extremely pleased with my bug. Katie

I am a big fan of the Cuttlebug. I like the versatility and portability. It can use a variety of dies and it can be moved around with ease.
I don't like the way the suction loosens up after you've run a die or embossing folder through, but I usually just reset it.
Oh, and the CB has a really nice price point as do the dies and embossing folders.
I have a BigKick and LOVE it! I bought the kit from Costco for $69 and change.. it was worth every penny. The platform is so easy to use and I have dies and folders from all different companies and they all work just fine. I heard so many stories of the Cuttlebug plates breaking so I avoided that and went with the BigKick and give it 5 STARS!!

Not a fan of die cuts, but I LOVE the embossing folders. Plus the fact that I can use my brass templates and Fiskars texture plates in the CB.

I lovvvvvvve my Cuttlebug! I had one of the first Sizzix machines and always had to put alot of effort into using it. I use my Cuttlebug everyday w/ no problem and I love that it accepts all other companies dies; especially the Nestabilities.

I love my cuttlebug. I use embossing folders and dies. I also use alot of the spellbinders. I have had no problems with it ever, and I do use it to cut felt, and even thin metal and leather.
I would strongly rec.; however the big shot is a bit more attractive; lime green not the smartest marketing to women. It should have been cute as a bug fuschia, or purple or something other then green.
My first and foremost comment is based on Craft Critique's comment on Sizzix where it says "accepts all of sizzix library". While this is definitely true, it is narrowly omitting that the Big Shot accepts ALL dies from ALL other companies, including the thinner steel dies. I have had all the die cut machines: Cricut, Cuttlebug, Spellbinder's Wizard, and Quick Kutz Revolution, which then added the extender plate to cut 4x12 inch dies. I kept the Revolution for awhile longer than i wanted after purchasing the Sizzix and being able to cut 50 material types with the BigZ dies on teh Big Shot. That is awesome, and despite others' opinions that cuttlebug can accommodate the larger and thicker BIGZ dies, it can't (not out of the box anyway). It requires you go to the workshop and cut down the sizzix cutting plates so they fit into a CB. In addition, I would agree that the CB is CHEAPER which seems to be why most people own it, and give it the consideration they are, because they have it. I got rid of it because it's not sturdy, and it looks like a fisher price toy. I got rid of my cricut because it wasted too much, and the blades were an upkeep. I got rid of my spellbinders because it couldn't cut my 12"inch long die cuts from Quick Kutz. My Big Shot has an adapter plate, which allows THINNER steel dies like nestabilities, and QK dies, which are thinner than sizzix' sizzlets. With both the adapter palte and the 12" longer cutting platform, it allows me to cut 2 decorative strip dies (3x12) side by side, as well as the 4x12" QK dies. Then if you want to cut boxes, bags, shaker boxes, pennants, etc from either chipboard, or felt, etc, you have the larger, longer, thicker BIGZ dies. Now I have my Revolution with the extender plate for sale, because I only need the Big Shot. I can honestly say, they don't compare, but perhaps it really depends on HOW often you scrapbook and make cards, and how limited your budget is. I do my person scrapbooking, sell cards, create book totes and aprons with my felt and fabric die cuts, and teach classes. I have two Big Shots, unfortunately not the electric one, which is pretty nifty but unnecessary. I used it at CHA in January 2009. Having used all of these machines, I can definitely tell you that Sizzix Big Shot is by far the best choice for me.
I have a Big Shot and a CB. I like them each equally well. The Big Shot is great for bigger projects but I can roll out alot of projects on the CB too! If I had to give up one, it would be the CB, since I can do the smaller projects in the Big Shot anyway!
I have a Wizard and a Big Shot. I chose the Big Shot over the Cuttlebug because it is larger and will cut dies that won't fit in the Cuttlebug...Big Shot cuts other mfg. dis with no problems...super simple! I love it!
