I own a little pair of "Paper Snips" (which are more commonly known as Cutter Bee Scissors). I purchased mine through Stampin' Up! so they have a different name and a sleek black design, but they are the same exact scissors that you will find at your local craft store. Both are made by EK Success.
I thought about titling this article "Why I Can't Craft without My Paper Snips" (because that is a very true statement for me!). I certainly can't stamp or scrap without them! I love these little scissors and I'm here to tell you why I think they are one of those "must haves" for your own crafting toolbox.
I first purchased these super-sharp scissors because I wanted to be able to closely trim around my stamped designs, like so:

Since these scissors are sharp down to the tip, they allow you to get into small crevices with precision. And they also create a clean cut all the way to the tip, so they are perfect for trimming out little flowers or leaves, like this.
I quickly discovered that I could use my scissors for all sorts of other paper crafts as well! They are perfect for anything you need to trim. So, I started to use them whenever I was making scrapbook pages as well. My favorite little use for my scissors is when I have a situation like this: see how my one layer is hanging off the side of my layout?

Snip, snip--now it is neat and clean! Hooray!
And there's just no way I could create hybrid layouts (which is a combination of digital and paper products) without my wonderful little scissors! I am on the creative team at the Scrap Shanty and this month our hybrid sponsor for April was Jen Wilson Designs. When I was looking through my file of digital scraps from Jen, my five year old daughter was "helping" me pick out the different things I was planning on printing and playing with. She pointed to one of the Jen's pretty birds from the Daily Dose collection and said, "Let's print that one!" In my mind, all I could think of was this:

How on earth could I use something like this, an image intended to be a digital stamp, in paper form? But then I remembered my little super scissors! I knew I could do something with the bird and it would turn out nice because of those fabulous sharp tipped snips. Here is a close up of what I ended up creating (click to see the entire layout, along with the credits):

So, to sum it all up, here's a list of what I love about my Paper Snips/Cutter Bee Scissors:
Pros:
- They are sharp to the tip to cut into corners.
- They cut in a nice, straight line.
- They stay sharp for years! I've had mine for about four years now.
- They are useful for every kind of paper craft.
- They come with a protective cover that keeps your fingers (and kids) safe.
Sorry! Can't think of any. I did try to come up with one but I couldn't! I think these little scissors do just what they claim to do and because they are so precise and versatile, they are an essential tool for every paper crafter.
They retail for $10 and can be found at most craft stores or online at Stamp Attic, Scrapbook Supercenter, and Scrapbook.com. If you're a girly girl they offer these scissors in pink for a few dollars more too!
So, if you've been wondering about trying these scissors and if they are "really worth it" now you know! Yes, they are! Tell us what you think!

4 Crafters have opinions about this post:
I agree, no cons - although even better than the Cutterbees are the EK Honeybees. Same scissors but with a non-stick coating so you can cut tacky tape and stickers with no residue! They run the same price, $10, and can be found at the big chain stores often as well as your lss.
YES I LOOOOVVEEE this scissor I have pink one and love it soo much! When I craft NOBODY touches my baby! lol

I love the Cutterbees! I have three of them - one for ribbon and one I just bought - and need the Honeybees so they won't get tacky. That's what my third is already - sticky from cutting tape, etc.
Love them!
I love these scissors! I had the yellow and blackk ones then I lost them.So I went and bought the pink ones...then I found the yellow ones soooo...now I have two pairs! :D :D
I use them for my paper crafting and since I'm a teacher, I use them for cutting out all that stuff for bulletin boards! Yahoo!!!
