Scrapblog

Thanks for visiting Craft Critique! If you've come here from a search engine or from a direct link, you might be missing out on more content! Please visit CraftCritique.com. And for more amazing content such as projects, artist interviews and more, sign up for our Monthly Newsletter.
As we have been learning this week, many of our readers LOVE the IDEA of digital scrapbooking, but they have either limited technical skills, no photo editing software or... like me... they are just plain scared!

Enter Scrapblog. An award-winning Adobe-based website that allows the user to create digital pages online! No software to download... just add your pictures, choose from the hundreds of backgrounds and embellishments to create your designs, and layer everything in place! Drop shadows can be added easily, designs can be rotated or resized, photos can be cropped and edited! It’s all VERY simple. Pages you create can be shared online: through your blog, facebook, flickr, email or within the supportive scrapblog community!

Here a video created by Scrapblog that shows you exactly how to use the service:

Scrapblog's basic services are free to use; for a small fee you can print your designs into an impressive book, card or calendar! There is also some new content in the “marketplace” created by your favorite designers: Bam Pop, Cosmo Cricket, Anna Griffin, Ali Edwards, and more!

Peek here for a list and some examples of the impressive new content.

This video explains how the marketplace works:

To use the new Marketplace content users purchase credits in bulk. Credits are then spent on elements like backgrounds or stickers. The elements are affordable, and once you purchase an element it is yours to use for any of your pages!

Speaking as a person with VERY limited technical skills and a real love for paper, I adore Scrapblog. I think it is so easy to use, with impressive results! I feel like a graphic artist when I use it! By adding drop shadows or by changing the opacity of the elements I can make paper look like parchment, or give the pages I create a real three-dimensional look!

Here are some samples of some of the very first pages I made. I have big plans to create some gift albums for my mom and grandmother showcasing some recent vacation photos. Custom birthday invites for my son would be cool too!

If you are afraid to dive into digital give Scrapblog a chance. I think you will find that you’ll be dragging and dropping your pages together in no time at all!

Prizes for EVERYONE! First of all… one very lucky winner will receive a gift certificate for a keepsake book and credits; the total value of this gift is over $50.

Scrapblog is also giving ALL our readers 15% off all their products for a limited time. Just use promo code CraftC09.

Please leave a comment below telling us your favorite of the new Scrapblog Marketplace designers.

Giveaway extended!!! Enter now! Drawing will close at Midnight CST 3/9/09

This looks like a really great way for a beginner (like me) to start digital scrapping, without getting in too far over their (MY!!) head. Thanks for sharing it, I really didnt' even know something like this existed.

I love House of Three with Heidi Swapp, Rhonna Farrer, and Janet Hopkins. I particularly like that they have added some inked and distressed edged stickers - something I had been looking for

I especially love that even though Scrapblog has added some great designer stuff for the MarketPlace, each designer has included some free stickers for us to use. (Just sort by "Least Credits" to find them.)

Well, what can I say, I have been using SB for quiet a while and I knew absolutely nothing about scraping when I started.... is like you said, I feel like a designer with my finished products!!!!

Not only is the program amazing but the community is the most amazing one I have found in 10 years of internet...
and not forgeting the Scrapblog team, who always, always listen to their users, sort out the problems and are the best team ever!!!!!

MY fav designer has to be Rhonna Farre, and the House of Three has her and two other very talented designers,,, not only Rhonna has the most amazing designs and variety, but she is (I have to say this) the only one who, apart from giving a lot of free elements, has her stuff reasonably priced...
Some of the others (in my honest opinion) have some ridiculously priced stickers....
The only problem with Scrapblog is.....
is terribly addictive!!! LOL
Just love them, love them and then love them a bit more!!!!!!

L said...

LOVE Pink Paislee! I might have to give this a try now that I have a 15% off discount! That might be the motivation I needed!
