When it comes to glitter, I'm a firm believer in more is better. I want to spray it, paint it and sprinkle it wherever possible. So I jumped at the chance to try Shimmerz Paints, a product that has found a way to replace the glitter-and-glue way of adding sparkle to craft projects.
Shimmerz Paints makes three water-based shimmer products that are perfect for scrapbooking, cardmaking and altered projects - Shimmerz, Blingz and Shimmerz Spritz. These iridescent paints are non-toxic and can be used on most any surface, including paper, fabric, cardstock, wood, metal, ribbon and acetate.

Shimmerz Paint is liquid glitter paint that can be painted with a brush on most surfaces. Blingz Paint is like Shimmerz Paint but is thicker and contains a bit more glitter. Shimmerz Spritz is a spray that adds a fine mist of glitter or can be layered to create a more dramatic effect.
I decided to use Shimmerz, Blingz and Shimmer Spritz to make a card. I used Shimmerz in Orange Sherbet to accent the orange flowers on this image, which added a bit of sparkle while enhancing the color.

Then I used Blingz in Pixie Dust to fill in the flowers in the background, painted a paper flower with Shimmerz in Choc-o-lot and finished the card off with a few spritzes of Shimmerz Spritz in Concrete.

The Shimmerz website also offers a few tutorials on how to use their products. I found a tutorial on how to make a paper flower out of an old piece of magazine paper.

Once I constructed my flower, then I added several layers of Shimmerz Spritz in Concrete and Ruby.

It took a few minutes to dry, but the end result was exactly what I wanted...a bit of color and a just a bit of shimmer.

I really enjoyed experimenting with the Shimmerz line of products. I absolutely loved the variety of colors and found the products to be high quality and easy to use. I can't wait to experiment more with layering and adding a bit of sparkle to my crafting!

Where to Buy:
Shimmerz and Blingz retail for around $4 for .25 oz. Shimmerz Spritz retails for around $5 for a 2 oz bottle.

Pros:
- Easy to use, just paint or spray
- Dries quickly
- Comes in a wide variety of colors
- Available in three mediums, depending on the amount of shimmer you want
Cons:
- May be difficult to find Shimmerz products at your local scrapbook store or chain craft store
- Shimmerz Spritz tends to warp paper if sprayed on too heavily
- Shimmerz and Blingz are only available in .25 oz jars
- All products tend to settle, so should be thoroughly shaken immediately before using

I'm afraid I could use a lot more shimmer since I haven't tried these products yet. Fingers crossed for the giveaway!
I've been lucky enough to get my hands on some Shimmerz paint. It is devine on flowers! I love that I can control where the shimmer is going with the paint. I haven't tried the sprays yet. That's next.
Sad to say, the only way I currently add shimmer or shine is by adding a little bit of Holographic Embossing Powder! It gives out a little sparkle, but is limiting on where you can put it.
When I feel the need to add a little sparkle to something I usually use perfect pearls or a glitter glue. I'd love to win so I could try these new products.

This looks so perfect for me! I have been having a go at perfect pearls in the last few days.
When it comes to glitter, shimmer, & bling! I am armed and dangerous! If the cat stands still long enough, she's in danger of a fine mist of glitter! LOL! Love it all...love it everywhere!
I have not been lucky enough to own any of these yet, but would love to win them to try..they sound yummy
Brenda
Just tryied perfect pearls...loving it...Shimmerz is next on the list!
I love to add glitter to my projects as it makes it stand out so well however I do not like the glue then sprinkle glitter so this product seems like just the thing. Guess if I do not win I will have to order some. The only scrapbook supply store we have in my town is Hobby Lobby and it would be years before we might get it there...
I love this product, and I would use it on white flowers to create custom colors!! Yummmm for sure!
I have not used the Shimmerz paints and spritzes as of yet. I've mainly stuck to stickles and similiar products to add shine to my projects.
I love the folded paper flower! I use Glimmer mist and I still love good 'ole glitter!
I've only used Stickles and regular glitter on my projects. Anything that is less messy than glitter sounds great!!
I use Shimmerz a fair bit the paint images, highlite things on patterned paper and for making embellishments a little glittery.
I use a variety of ways to add glitz. I have used glitter, glimmer mist, shimmerz, stardust pens, microflake pens. Love to add the bling to my project!

I like to use pre-glittered letters to add shimmer to my crafts. I'd love some of the Shimmerz, Blingz and Spritz so that I could make my own! :D
ohhhhh....ahhhhh....I use tattered Angels glimmer mist right now but i am always looking for the next new thing ;-)
I add shimmer to my flowers with spray not this brand and allways get wrinkled so maybe I need more practice.. I love shimmer!!
I currently add sparkle and shine to my projects by using embossing powders with added sparkle, Glamour Dust and Stickles but the idea of something you can spray appeals to me.
I don't have any of these products, but will be sure to get some soon! I like to use tiny rhinestones, glitter glue, glitter and Twinking H2Os to get the bling on my projects!
Great card. I don't use shimmer or shine on my cards because I don't have any products to do this. Thanks for a chance to win. If I do win I'll be able to add some bling to my cards.
That's so cool it comes in 3 mediums to get the shimmer you want! I have tried Glimmer Sprays, and not all that impressed. It seemed like I needed to use a lot and I've been curious about the comparison.
I love stickles and TA glimmer mist. I have been dying to try this product, but it's hard to find! I've been into making my own embellies lately and this would work great!
glitter???
bling???
shimmer???
now your talkin' my language!
there isn't a day that goes by that I don't have glitter stuck on my face from a project.
thanks for the chance to win. :)
would love to try them all!
Since I don't have any Shimmerz, yet, I use SU glitter & those colored stickles.
Hopefully I'll win a pkg to try and probably get hooked, kwim?
I would love to try some shimmerz, I havent' yet but they look so pretty.
I just use glitter glue and rhinestones right now.
I would add Shimmerz to the flowers, butterflies on my layouts and cards.
They would add that perfect something that I've been looking for - glitter!
I've resisted no more! I love this segment and those Shimmerz Spritz are AWESOME!
I have yet to try these! I add shimmer with glitter or glitter pen. I have seen these and would love to try them!
Depending on the look I want, I use a couple of different products. I have stickles, Twinkling H2Os, gold and silver spray glitter and some delta pearlescent paints.
LOVE this posting on Craft Critique. I tend to use the tried and true stickles, but will be definitely be getting some shimmerz and blingz! Great ideas and writing.
I would like to use lots more shine but so far I've only used glitter. I need to get with it and try these new products! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win some...
Wow! This stuff is great--the spritz looks like it adds both shimmer and body--perfect for adding another dimension to my found art projects.
I love that paper flower with the page from a phone book(?) It's darling! I use Glimmer mist or sometimes I go with pearl ex (it's not the same, but I like the effect), and sometimes just plain old glitter and sticky-backed rhinestones!
Glad to see this review. I have been VERY interested in trying this line as I am NOT happy with Tattered Angels. Thank you for the give away chance.
I LOVE shimmer and shine, so I'll add it anyway possible! I haven't used these products yet, but I do use another brand of glimmer spray, "bling" page jewels, and glittery embossing powder!
I'd love to give these products a try and compare them to the glimmer mist and stickles I use right now. One can never have enough glitter!
I love anything that glitters, glimmers, shines or reflects!! I use a lot of rhinestones or jeweled brads. I also have a rainbow of stickles that I will use for adding dots, outlining or coloring in areas. hope I win!! Love to try something new, too!1
Currently my sparkle comes from Stickles...but I've been wanting to try some Shimmerz!!! Pick me, please!!!
I add sparkle by using glitter. I wanna try new ways to add bling to my creations!
I add sparkle by using glitter. I wanna try new ways to add bling to my creations!
I love glitter, glimmer, and shine! So far I've played with Stickles, glitter, Sparkling H2Os, and Perfect Pearls. More toys would be wonderful!
Bev M
Fabulous card and love how you did the flower. Just enough bling to make this flower perfect. I like to use shimmer on my main image and on make grounds. Thanks for a chance.
I love, love love Shimmerz!!! I wish I had them all!!
Candy Barnett
I love bling! I don't use shimmer a lot, but when I do I use twinkling h2o... I use a lot of rhinestones though... Thanks for the great inspiration and the chance to win some yummy products!
I use glitter for bling.

I have a motto: everything looks better with glitter ~ EVERYTHING. I am at my happiest when I glitter! Thank you for the chance to win the giveaway!!!!!! I would try it on as many mediums as I can find! :)
I love glitter letter stickers! I probably use them too much lol.
Could you please post the url where you found how to make the paper flowers from the magazines?
Thanks
Susan
I've never seen these products before! Your samples are wonderful, how wonderful would it be to win these goodies!
I don't have any products like the Shimmerz, not even glitter.
Well until I can finally get my hands on some shimmerz products, I stick with rhinestones and pearls for my bling effect!
PS. Christinescraps sent me ;)
Not owning any Shimmerz yet, I usually use Stickles and or fine glitter. I would love to own some Shimmerz... Thanks for the chance..
Hello... I've only used Stickles when wanted to add some shiny detail to the projects. I'm still kind of a beginner when refering to use of multiple tools and products, so winning this giveaway would give me the chance to try something new. Thanks for the opportunity.
I use glimmer mist on My Lo and cards. is great for coloring background paper, to use with templates and to color embellishments like flowers. I am not the owner of Shimmerz - yet - but I am sure I would use this the same way. Love the things you made with it.
OH Im all about some bling and sparklys on my projects. but havent tried these. I have been using glimmer mist by tattered angels or stickles. This looks like fun! Would love to try some!
Oh I LOVE Shimmerz! So far I only have one color but I use it to add some glimmer to my images! :D
Shimmerz is one of my favorite products! I use it to paint line art images, color flowers and give color to a 3D dimensional liquid I make myself.
Oh I LOVE me some bling and shimmer! Usually I use stickles over paint or Glimmer Mist. Would love the opportunity to try these new products!
I have tried Shimmerz Paint before and absolutely love the effect it has! It can be put almost anywhere and look fantastic! :D
Ohhhh, this looks like FUN. I don't generally used shiny things, but perhaps I should try. Occasionally I use some glitter. I love the chance to win something different! Thanks.
Cheers,
Stacy
I used Shimmerz paint for the first time my LSS had 1 color available and love the look it added to my stamped image!
Everybody's got such cool stuff, Shimmerz paint, glass glitter, etc, I however, have embossing powder and my kids glitter glue. This would greatly improve my crafting inventory!

Very different projects. I'd like to try something out of the ordinary. I usually don't use these kinds of products. Would love to try them.
For anyone who wants it, the tutorial came from the Shimmerz website!

When it comes to glitz I like it easy! ;D That is one thing I do like about Shimmerz and Blingz, they are so easy to use! (And look gorgeous too!)
Ooooh, Stickles! Especially the new Distress ones! And I have to admit, I also use Glimmer Mist & other 'mist' products.
Great giveaway!
I've got a few bottles of Glimmer Mist, some Stickles and all the colors of Liquid Pearls that JoAnns carries. I would love to add more glitz, bling and shimmer to my product collection!
I'm dying to try these! I adore any kind of sparkle from stick-on gems to stickles to loose glitter, to sparkling embossing powders and shimmering H2O's. Oh and Tattered Angels' Mists too! I can't get enough sparkly stuff. I hope that Shimmerz, Blingz, and Spritz become available in Raleigh soon!
I used lotsa bling...Spica markers, Stickles, I love Bling paper, glitter, glitter embossing powder, rhinestones....etc. etc. I'd love to have these.... fingers crossed.... :-)
oooh, I love anything glittery or sparkley. I have a couple of pots of shimmerz, but didn't know about the spritz or blingz! I'd love to win some!

I add bling with stickles but have yet to try these paints! It would be great if I got to try them!
I've used Stickles for years, ever since it came out. I've always loved it. But I'd love to win this package to try it, especially the Blingz!! Thanks for the opportunity.
Thanks for the great review! I love using my stickles and have some of the glimmer mist, but can never it get it to come out quite like how i want...these might be a better way for me to go!
Lately I have been using some glittered Thickers from American Crafts. But I would love to try out a spray and all the rest of this sparkle goodness!
I add shimmer, sparkle and bling to every project I can, in every way I can-I haven't tried the Shimmerz yet, but I am dying to!
i add powders and glitters but neve tried these products before.
I just love what you did with the flower it's so cool. I only have one Shimmerz product right now and use it sparingly but I like it!!
I started using Twinkling H20s to add a bit of shimmer to my layouts and cards.
Beautiful...I'd love to try Shimmerz...for now I use Stickles.
This example is AWESOME! Thanks for the inspiration! Now...to get myself MORE Shimmerz!!!!
~Heather
Wow...love your review. Thank you for the chance to win!!
Hi,
I have never used Shimmerz products but I want to try this.
I use glimmer mists.
Greatings from germany

I have a new marriage and a seven month old son. I would love to have the shimmerz, blingz, and spritz to work on the scrapbook of our new shared life and really go crazy on photo cards sent to all the grandmas and relatives.
I saw the product demonstrated and had to get my hands on it right away. I use the Shimmerz paint as the frosting on top of cupcake images, sparkles on angels wings & halos, extra sparkle and bling on cake images, and of course direcly on paper flowers.
I love this product and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to add that something extra special on their paper crafting items.
