Reported by Sarah Moore

For me, Halloween is a holiday that can transcend traditional style and design. It's an excuse to create something weird or silly beyond your usual tastes, to experiment with bizzare images and wild colors. I mean, when else can you mix lime, violet and orange... really?

I have to be honest... when I think of EK Success I would ALWAYS choose the Martha Stewart Crafts line for myself as a design match, but these fun K and Company designs are so family friendly and silly, I was really excited to play with them.

Our reporters are so talented... and this week you've seen some amazing designs. I decided to keep things super simple, and show you some really easy Halloween cards you can bust out in a day with your family. There is still plenty of time to get those Halloween cards in the mail!

These first two cards were created using the K and Company Tim Coffey Halloween Words & Icons Die-cuts. These retail for about $5.00 and boy do you get your money's worth! 174 individual cut outs are inside this package. All of them cute and silly! Perfect for you or your kids!

Lookee here! I just glued these to a plain A Muse card base with dimensional adhesive. Done and done!

For this card I added a word sticker and some patterned paper from the same line... easy peesy!

This card is a tad more complex... I cut the Tombstone card base with my Cricut (it's just a tag shaped card). I sponge inked the paper's edges a tad and then glued the cutouts in place. I also added these wonderful tiny EK Success Sticko Letters. Love them! "Rick R. Mortis"... get it? Especially funny if you know my husband's name is Richard R. Moore. ;)

I highly recommend the cutouts... they seem to be a wonderful value considering the vibarancy of the images and the quality of the cardstock.

Now let's talk Punches. We've raved before here at Craft Critique about the new Slim profile Punch line By EK Success. Like are other reporters I agree that they cut like butter... even these tiny images... I used Stampin' Up! papers here... so that's a good test for a teeny detailed punch like this.

Ooh! And a little skull and bones! How can you resist!?! This image is dime sized and cut out perfectly!

And last but not least... let's chat Jolee's Stickers. I used my Cricut to cut this adorable treat bag, stuck on some high quality Jolee stickers, filled it will lollipops and BAM... DONE... high quality giftable.

In my humble opinion there is NOTHING wrong with making quick, simple designs like these. You can finish them in a day, not lose any sleep, and most of your friends will think you are a crafting goddess. Who has to know it was all stickers and cut outs?

EK Success has generously donated some of the products featured in the weeks reviews to give away to our great readers! Please leave your comments on this article to win a EK Success Slim Line Medium Bats punch from EK Success Brands. You have until Sunday, October 18 at Midnight to enter.
