If we had to pick a trend this year at CHA, it was definitely "green" and we don't mean the color. Everywhere we looked we saw signs declaring "Eco-friendly" and "All-Natural". It seems companies are really starting to get that consumers want less wasteful packaging, and crafting options that make our world a happier, healthier place.Green Glue, from EcoGreen Crafts, is plant-based and safe to eat, if that's how you roll:
Paris Trunk dye-based inks contain low, or no, VOCs (volatile organic compounds... the stuff you don't want in your homes!)
Acrylic paint: "Green" never came in so many colors (quote stolen from their website... I'm not that clever!).
Over in the Foss Manufacturing Company booth, we spied Eco-fi, a polyester fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. You know, like from all those over-priced waters we've all been drinking!
Foss Manufacturing takes those bottles and creates fiber that can be used in myriad applications. Their promos boast that a 6' x 8' outdoor carpet saves 48 bottles from being landfilled, and a kids' sweatshirt saves 17 bottles! We encourage you to look for products created with Eco-fi!This post is brought to you by Kiki Art: Kiki Art is a multicultural scrapbooking company with a unique perspective!
