CHA Trends: Eco Crafts

If we had to pick a trend this year at CHA, it was definitely "green" and we don't mean the color. Everywhere we looked we saw signs declaring "Eco-friendly" and "All-Natural". It seems companies are really starting to get that consumers want less wasteful packaging, and crafting options that make our world a happier, healthier place.

Green Glue, from EcoGreen Crafts, is plant-based and safe to eat, if that's how you roll:

Paris Trunk dye-based inks contain low, or no, VOCs (volatile organic compounds... the stuff you don't want in your homes!)

Acrylic paint: "Green" never came in so many colors (quote stolen from their website... I'm not that clever!).

The paint line includes metallics, not always easy to do without VOCs. Good show!

Over in the Foss Manufacturing Company booth, we spied Eco-fi, a polyester fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. You know, like from all those over-priced waters we've all been drinking!


Foss Manufacturing takes those bottles and creates fiber that can be used in myriad applications. Their promos boast that a 6' x 8' outdoor carpet saves 48 bottles from being landfilled, and a kids' sweatshirt saves 17 bottles! We encourage you to look for products created with Eco-fi!
