My crafty daughter and I had a blast at the CHA Supershow. There were so many crafts for us to try! I have so many new gift ideas!

The very first thing she wanted to do was learn how to knit. The Craft Yarn Council had patient teachers ready to oblige:

At the same booth, the Craft Yarn Council had needle felting supplies from Clover and she got to try making a needle felted flower with wool roving.

That's acrylic felt and acrylic yarn, and the needle felting still worked! I always thought needle felting had to use natural wools. She loved this project and that felting tool protected her fingers from the barbs on the felting needles.

We found the Clover booth and tried making some pom poms using their fun tools. Heart shaped pom poms are tricky, but look! Success!

There was a line all day long to color t-shirts at the Testors booth with the ColorArtz airbrushing system. We kept getting distracted from the line for that, but we spotted one of our young friends spraying color to make a funky shirt.

At I Love to Create.com, The Crafty Chica and her crafty daughter helped my daughter make a fabric bracelet with fabrics dyed with Tulip Fashion Dyes. Later, the same booth had switched their craft to a fun, messy dye project using spray dies. My daughter was in heaven with that make-and-take!

Aleen's Tacky Glue was the most popular glue at all of the non-paper booths.

A skilled young helper showed my daughter how to make complicated friendship bracelets using the My Friendship Bracelet Maker clip board.

The volunteers at Conkerr Cancer guided her as she serged the edges of her pillowcase donation:

Finally, we made our way over to the actual designated kids area where there were even more projects for children. My daughter would not allow us to do any more crafting until she got her face painted. I was able to get her to skip the bouncing house.

She tried some quick scrapbooking using Fiskars punches. FloraCraft sponsored this ribbon-and-paper over styrofoam bulletin board project.

Time was running out, so the weary - but still upbeat and friendly - helpers gave her a fingerprint doodling kit to play with at home:

Wait! Mom! We can't leave until I paint at the JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts booth!

Gosh, we did a lot! Can you believe there were tons of things we didn't even get to try? You bet we are coming back next year!
