Another new exciting development for Bernat is their partnership with Waverly Fabrics! They've worked with Waverly to develop yarns for home decor with match Waverly's most popular lines! What a fabulous idea! Finally, our afghans can really match our drapes!

We're just crazy about their new releases, and can't wait to get our fingers all tangled up!

CHA Jewelry Design: Beadalon

The Craft and Hobby Association show had a great selection of jewelry supply product companies in attendance.   One of the booths we visited at the show was the Beadalon booth.  We got a chance to stop by to see some of the new items they have trending right now in jewelry making.

There was a display of Fernando Dasilva’s jewelry.   He recently wrote a jewelry book called Modern Expressions and was at the show doing book signings.

Another item that caught our eye was the Chain Maille jewelry that is made with their new  “Chain Maille Rings” product line.  They look like jump rings but are made from copper wire and are available in different colors.  The wire is tarnish-resistant which is a must if you are going to make “Chain Maille” jewelry.

They also have a special new mat that is tacky enough to hold the jump rings so they don’t slide around.

The process of making Chain Maille jewelry making has been around for a very long time.  Basically, you use long nose pliers and special jump rings that vary in size.  These jump rings are specifically made for this craft  and the finished designs looked fun to wear.
Lauren Anderson is the designer of these pieces and has been making Chain Maille for years.

What do you think? Ready to go get your Beadalon on?

CHA Scrapbooking: Uniformed Scrapbooks of America

One of the more emotional products we saw at the show were the Album covers from Uniformed Scrapbooks of America. Our family has quite a few connections with the military forces in a few different countries and we know these removable covers would be such a beautiful addition for those albums.

They are fabric covers made to look like a folded shirt with shirt collars and pockets where you can pin actual badges and name tags on to the front to give it the ultimate personal touch.

While the pre-badged covers are USA forces specific, the plain shirts could be used for a lot of different countries military, as well as fire & rescue, or police officers.

We really liked the quality of the fabric and the attention to detail in the album covers. The fact that they are removable is such an awesome idea - this means they can be put straight on the albums you already have with those layouts celebrating those who give so much.

CHA Scrapbooking: Vintage Street

These two new paper-crafting kits, Dimestore Vogue and Party Games, featured by Vintage Street caught our eye because of their unique contents:

Two 24" x 36" Printed Paper Sheets
One 24" x 36" Foil Sheet
One 24" x 36"  Crepe Paper Sheet
One 12" x 12" sheet of  Tags 'n Things featuring 36 colorful decorative die cut embellishments.

and reusable (and very cute) kraft packaging:

This is great for scrapbooking and various paper crafts (cards, collages, altered art, etc.), but because of the unique 24" x 36" Paper Sheet, this is also great for handmade party goods and giftwrapping!
