The CHA Winter 2013 show begins on Saturday, January 12, 2013. At a media preview event, I took some photos of some of the fun new products that will be on display.
My first favorite is a fun new embroidery book, called “Emma Broidery’s Memory Thread How-To Guide by the folks at DMC. The designs in this book are easy to make and were specifically designed to be used with their popular memory thread line. One of the fun patterns in this book is a cute gingerbread house ornament.
Do you love cupcakes? I know I do. Perhaps the ones below will inspire you to try your hand at cupcake decorating. These black and white cupcakes remind me of cameo’s and they look super intricate to make:
The great news is that they easy to make. Katy Sue Designs has released a fun selection of cupcake molds that you can use with fondant and even paper clay.
For the jewelry-making enthusiasts, Juliana C. Hudgins revealed her new jewel loom:
She has created a loom that is easy to store and even easier to use. Look at some of the great bracelets that she made using her new loom.
I hope I have sparked your interest in what new products and techniques are being demonstrated at the Winter CHA 2013 show! If you have some products you would like us to post about, please leave a comment below and we will do our best to find it at the show.

Good morning:
I am reluctant to get too excited about Tim Holtz’s new Distress Paints because of the problems many of us encountered with Distress Markers. However, they are one of the Top 20 new products. Can you find out more about them? Are they simply water-soluble acrylic paints in TH distress colors, or is there something “magical” about them that renders them essential to purchase?
Any feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.
I have had no trouble with the markers, but I have endless trouble with the Ranger Paint Dabbers. With the exception of the metallic paints, every single one of them has gone into the trash. The paint get goopy and the dabbers dry up and become usable. I wish they would just release them in a bottle without the dabbers. They are just terrible.
