Review | My Image Bracelet Maker [Giveaway]

Welcome back to Kid’s Week at Craft Critique!

The My Image Bracelet Maker by Crorey Creations allows children to create one-of-a-kind bracelets from their own photos or other images.  I enlisted my daughter’s help with this project because she loves everything jewelry and crafty.  I wanted to see how easy it would be for her to complete the project by herself and to see if she would enjoy it.

The box has fun, bright colors, but the color pink is missing… a fact that was pointed out by my daughter.

The My Image Bracelet Maker’s drawers are great. They hold extra pieces and they were not difficult to open.

The My Image Bracelet Maker comes with pre-printed images for making a quick & easy project. You can also print out your own photos to create a one-of-a-kind bracelet.

This is what it looks like when you are threading the bracelet with elastic:

Punching the images out was my daughter’s favorite part. As you can see, this was an action shot.

The kit also comes with a glue stick that is used to adhere the image to the plastic piece.

Once you are finished with gluing the images you need to flip the bracelet over. The arch on the bracelet maker holds everything in place for you.

Then you can tie the elastic together, and trim it.

The yellow piece is a key which pulls the knots you just made into the plastic piece so it will not come undone. (I love this tool!)

And then it’s time to model the finished project! My little girl was very proud to show off her bracelet that she made.

My daughter has made several bracelets by herself and is really loving this kit!

Pros:

  • Very easy to use for a child with little or no help (great for a slumber party project!)
  • The punch is fantastic to punch the squares.
  • Great rainy day project

Cons:

  • For a product aimed at girls, there’s very little pink.

My Image Bracelet Maker retails for $29.99, and refill kits are available for $14.99.

Amanda Marks

I have been married 8 years to an amazing and supportive husband (supportive of all my crazy ideas and there have been some crazy ones.) I am a stay at home mom of a 8 year old, a 4 year old and Reeva (our rescue dog). I attended art college for Historic Preservation and Art Education, taking Praxis 1 and 2. I worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years and decided several years ago that it was way too stressful and made a decision to be a stay at home mom and work on my artistic passions. I know I will go back to art college when the time is good, but right now I like being at home doing what I love best – being an artist, a wife and mother.

I’m curious what ages you would consider this appropriate for, both independent and with adult help.
Looks like it’s definitely got some features to help it be an independent project at younger ages.

I would consider this appropriate for both. I did bring it to my last Girl Scout Meeting (Tuesday) to see the different age levels (Daisies-Brownies – 5-9). The 9 year olds loved it, the Daisies also loved it but they needed help tying the bracelet off.

I don’t think the “not enough pink” should be a con. I’m tired of products coming only in pink or blue. I’m glad to see things trying to be a little broader in their appeal.
