The Ribbon Ring is just one of the latest products to keep your ribbons untangled and organized.
Unlike ribbon holders that store spools of ribbon, there are very few commercially manufactured solutions for storing those ribbons we buy by the yard. This new system is designed for just that. In fact, according to the instructions included, they recommend a yard or less.
The Ribbon Ring works with a system of plastic notched cards that keep your ribbons snug in place. By carefully lacing the ribbons according the instructions, as well as the sample card included, they are guaranteed not to fall off. And, since the ribbons are now hanging instead of wound, you are sure to have uncreased ribbons for any of your projects. Each plastic card can hold one ribbon up to 1.125″ wide or several totaling that size. So you can store a yard of 1″ ribbon on a card or 3 yards of 3/8″ ribbon. Then all the cards are held together with a large jump ring and can be hung in a craft room or near your desk. This system makes it easy to see the ribbon you have and thus, be more likely to use it up.
Also included in the kit are small orange dot stickers which are meant to be used if you have more than one yard of that ribbon, you can affix a sticker to indicate that more of the same resides on another card or spool. The website as well as directions recommend only storing up to a yard of each ribbon on a card but I had no trouble storing 2 yards.
With your ribbons stored on the cards, you can just cut the length you need right from the card. And when you have used up all the ribbon on a card, you can replace it with another. This makes their system invaluable. And I personally love visible storage. It not only aids as a visual reminder but also adds to the crafty decor. You can also transport the ring easily to a crop or with you to your BFF’s house for a little crafty time.
The only drawback I see to this system is that if you tend to purchase very wide ribbon, you would need many cards for storing but the price is very reasonable and the large 3″ binder ring can hold 100 cards.
The Starter Set comes with 30 ribbon tags and a 2″ ring which can hold up to 60 ribbon tags comfortably. Additional ribbon tags are sold separately for $9.50 for 30 tags. And the best part is that they have incredible customer service both friendly and fast.
- Keeps ribbon from creasing
- Visible storage to increase use
- Great customer service
- Lightweight and very portable
- Large ribbons would need their own card
