CHA- Adhesives: Scotch ATG

For those of you who have waiting to take the ATG plunge, wait no more!

3M Corp is offering its support to breast cancer research through donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation from the sale of its new pink ATG gun. For each gun sold, the company will donate $1.20 to the foundation, with a minimum donation of $25,000.

Hey, guess what we found out… the industrial/framer version of the ATG stood for “Adhesive Transfer Gun” and when they were brainstorming name ideas for the new, pink, crafters’ version, they totally accidentally came up with a name that also had the initials ATG: Advanced Tape Glider. I’m not sure I believe it was accidental, but it makes for good party trivia. If you’re partying with crafters, anyway.

Here’s Sarah Moore getting a lesson on how to load the new, pink ATG: Advanced Tape Glider:

The pink ATG will be available at Michaels and Joann stores. MSRP $39.00; as for the tape itself, 2 rolls of the general purpose adhesive has MSRP of between $6 and $7 dollars, 2 rolls of the acid-free variety will retail for between $9 and $10. Each roll contains 36 yards of super strong adhesive. Yep, it’s the good stuff.

How excited are you about the new, pink ATG: Adhesive Tape Glider? Yeah, us too!

I’ve been waiting to take the plunge for an ATG because of the price – hooray an affordable one that is pink! I bought one two weeks ago from Michaels.

YEA! I am so glad you updated the “how to” video!! Btw love the hint on “breaking” the tape! Seriously – that is a huge tip! lol.

Let me tell ya – 3m/Scotch is a great company. My ATG (*cough* advanced tape glider *cough* ) just wouldn’t work so I called up
3M and they sent me a new one with no fuss – and free tape! I guess there was a bad batch of tape guns when I bought my ATG – and lucky me – I got one of them!

Anyways – I am one happy camper with my new ATG – albiet it is red, not pink, but I love it all the same!! PS good video Sarah!

WOW! Good price on that ATG gun…when I bought mine a couple of years ago, it was $60!

I love the ATG, I’ve got the yellow one (holds the 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch tapes without an adaptor, or the 1/4-inch tape WITH an adaptor) and the red one (holds the 1/4-inch tape without needing an adaptor). Of course I’d ‘have’ to have the pink one too. Which size is it? Do you know?

WOW! I paid so much more for mine a few years ago. If they come to M’s with a coupon, it’ll be a steal. I love mine. At the time, I also ordered a box of tape with 12 rolls. I think it worked out to about $3.00 per roll and was so much cheaper than having to buy so much expensive adhesive for my ‘other’ tape roller. I kept my ‘other’ one to use for temporary adhesive.

I’m already stalking my Michaels for this ATG to arrive! I’ve wanted one forever, and I’ll get mine as soon as they get some in stock! I wondered if this model takes different widths of adhesive like the others or if they’re only 1/4″?

I’ve ordered my pink ATG from Bear Creek Creations and I know there are several other online stores that have them available so there is another option for ya if you don’t live close to a big box store, like me. :o)

I’ve got the ‘Adhesive Transfer Gun’ and probably won’t be buying the ‘Advanced Tape Glider.’ Pink is a pretty color, but not enough better to trade up!
