CHA Fabric Arts: Kandi Corp

We were on our way to lunch when the Kandi Corp booth caught our eye. You know it’s good if it distracted us from the pursuit of food!

Kandi Corp has a number of cool tools (well, actually, they’re all HOT tools), including this new mini iron that can be configured as a hot plate! Great for encaustic wax and other melty media, as well as quilting and other pressing matters.

But here’s what stopped us in our tracks. The new deColorant is a safe method of fabric dye discharge PLUS adds its own color to the mix. That means you can paint it on an already dyed fabric and not only does it remove the base color, it adds a color to the top. No more muddy-colored overdyed fabric! The color you paint on stays bright and true, even on dark-colored base fabric.

this is the backside of the fabric pictured above

AND! AND! Once heat-set, washed & dried, the added color does not change the hand of the fabric at all. Silk scarves stay silky. This is not just a surface paint!

The deColorant comes in tons of colors and both large & small containers.

It’s safe for babywear, as well as your rubber and photo polymer clear stamps.

Got your mind reeling? What would you color with deColorant?
