CHA Winter 2013 | Artistic Ribbon L.E.D Ribbon

LED Textile Ribbon from Artistic Ribbon, adds a fun unique embellishment to your scrapbooking pages.  The windows in the buildings below are lit with the tiny L.E.D. lights.

L.E.D Light Ribbon used as embellishments on this scrapbook page.

This was done using a 1/8″ soft satin ribbon with L.E.D. lights from Artistic Ribbon ( better known as Light Emitting Diodes) that blink and glow. Below is a short video showing how the lights blink.

This L.E.D. textile ribbon is soft and pliable, so it is easily combined with different types of media to create artwork and craft projects.

The ribbon is available in 12 different colors:

The L.E.D. textile ribbon comes packaged in two lengths, which are 21″ and 59″.   The 21″ has 10 L.E.D. lights and 59″ has 30 L.E.D. lights.

These L.E.D. lights are powered by a small switchbox that holds two lithium batteries.  The ribbon can be cut to a shorter length and then re-attached to the switchbox.

The versatility of this ribbon would make it great for use as an accent on a prop for Halloween costumes (as long as it is used on parts that will not be washed or exposed to water).   What would you use this type of ribbon for?

I have been crafting since I was a child and I love seeing what others create. I live near the beach so everything around me inspires me. I also enjoy activities where I re-purpose something old & discarded & make it into something cool. My favorite mantra is "Re-use, recycle, and re-make".

Every year, I make Holiday cards for my husbands business clients. He’s an electrical contractor. Last year he asked me if there was any way the card could light up when opened…! But, I’m wondering if it would make it thru the mail…
